As owner and founder of Grace & Coco Rocks, and as a former city lawyer, I wanted to find a way to have my own business yet still have time for my young family. Knowing going back to the law would never give me this flexibility I set about doing something I had always loved doing as a child: being creative!
Having watched my mother, a keen jeweller in her spare time, using gemstones and crystals to create beautiful jewellery over 20 years or so, I decided to have a go. A hopeless addiction was started, and with my mother teaching me everything I needed to know, I started designing. Soon I found myself getting more and more comments from friends and family about the pieces I was creating.
My first order for a crystal rope was taken at my daughters' school gates and whilst having success at small craft and school fairs I was still continuing to generate a steady stream of word-of -mouth sales. I realised that I needed to find a proper medium for selling and so Grace & Coco Rocks was born. The name choice was easy, my two beautiful daughters Grace and Coco. Shortly after our brand was born we launched on social media.
When I'm not busy making jewellery or preparing for my next event, I love to spend time with my family and to look after the youngest most demanding member of the business, our bossy miniature schnauzer.
